Description

Bigger & Better from EducationUSA Southeast Asia: Graduate Studies Fairs!

Building on the success of EducationUSA Graduate Studies Fairs in Indonesia since 2016, we're pleased to announce the expansion of 2018 SEA Grad Fairs to three exciting recruitment markets of Southeast Asia.

Since 2016, EducationUSA Fairs for U.S. graduate studies have grown in Indonesia, attracting audiences totalling thousands, and qualified prospects have shown growing interest in a wide range of U.S. graduate programs.

Factors to consider:

- Jakarta, the Indonesian capital with over 10 million residents, is home to the largest and oldest university in Indonesia. With more than 500,000 college students at approximately 57 public & private universities in greater Jakarta, local students receive the most scholarship awards from the Indonesian government and private sector.

- Malang, the second largest city in East Java, Indonesia, is well-known as an education city with approximately 80 higher education institutions enrolling 350,000 college students. More than 200 students from Malang were awarded Indonesian government scholarships annually. Our 2018 fair will be held in a major state university, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang.

- Brunei: The Land of Unexpected Treasures, Brunei Darussalam is home to 450,000 residents of diverse culture and religion. The country boasts a strong economy and is the fourth largest producer of oil and gas in Asia. There is rising interest for the Brunei Government to send fully funded graduate scholars in the United States and have preference to the following areas of study:

  • Masters - Agricultural Development/ Agricultural Science; Business Analysis and Strategic Management; Customs, Taxation and International Trade Law; Forensic Audit and Accounting; Gerontology; Intelligence, Security and Strategic Studies; Taxation; Special Education (Specific Learning Difficulties/Autism, Applied Behavioral Analysis/ Disabilities Studies / Assistive Technology / Deaf Education/ Profound Moderate Learning Difficulties); and Occupational Therapy
  • Doctorate - Business Innovation; Entrepreneurship; Economics; Actuarial Science; Applied Finance; Risk Management and Investment; Risk and Security Management; Financial Analysis; Insurance; Accounting and Taxation; Quality Assurance in Higher Education; Islamic Banking and; Finance Law; Islamic Wealth Management; Islamic Management; Islamic Development Management; Investment Banking; and Islamic Financial Economics.

- Manila: For many reasons, Filipinos make great international students. According to the Open Doors Report released in November 2017, the Philippines had a 4.2% increase in students going to the U.S. for higher education study. Philippines also ranked third as the country with the best non-native English speakers in the world (Source: Education First, Ltd., 2016). With the current K-12 transition and ASEAN integration, the Philippines continue to ramp up graduate and doctoral studies abroad, especially in the United States.

* Greater appreciation by Southeast Asian students/parents/teachers for benefits of U.S. graduate education, coupled with greater funding capacity.

* As EducationUSA centers operate locally, EducationUSA advisers have working relationships with local universities and students.

* Attractive value: cost-effective Registration Fees; network with EducationUSA advisers; meet Graduate School Scholarship Providers from Indonesian and/or other governments; Panel Talks (by invitation).
